Governor Wes Moore Proclaims May 3rd as Maryland’s First Official Mental Self-Care Day
Maryland has officially recognized May 3rd as Mental Self-Care Day—a statewide initiative created to shift the focus from crisis intervention to everyday emotional wellness. Signed into proclamation by Governor Wes Moore and proposed by Dominique Thornton, MS, LCPC, this day acknowledges the power of proactive mental health practices. Marylanders are encouraged to celebrate in their own way and share their practices online using #MentalSelfCareDay and #MarylandCares.
